ISLAMABAD –Musadik Malik, the Federal Minister of Petroleum, has stated that the government is taking steps to curb inflation.
Inflation was 38 percent last year, but it has since dropped to 12 percent, he said.
During a news briefing, Malik stated that the country’s growth rate was increasing by 2.4%.
He stated that agriculture provided the majority of employment opportunities in the country, and that employment was the government’s top goal.
He stated that the Banazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will receive Rs600 billion this year.
He stated that 86 percent of the population consumed 200 units of electricity, and that the government had devised a plan to address this issue.

He claimed that Omer Ayub was discussing government policy from 2013, while he was a member of the government, and that he should have done something about it instead of blaming others.
