Inside Out 2 achieves another milestone as highest-grossing animated film: Check out the Top 10 list

Inside Out 2 broke yet another record as the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Pixar Animation Studios is celebrating after its latest release, Inside Out 2, set a new record for the highest-grossing animated film in history. The animated picture received widespread acclaim, implying that audiences in several countries identified with Riley’s emotions. The film also bolstered theater attendance after a poor start at the beginning of summer this year.

Inside Out 2 earned $1.46 billion at the global box office, dethroning the 2019 Disney film Frozen II, according to The Walt Disney Company. The sequel to the 2015 film delves deeper into Riley’s emotions, introducing additional feelings such as anxiety, depression, and others for the first time inside her brain.

Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, stated that “Inside Out 2 is a quintessentially Pixar film, and it’s been amazing to see how it has connected so deeply with people all over the world.” He went on to say, “We thought it was something unique, but no one expected it to reach these record-breaking heights. We are grateful to all of the fans who helped make this the biggest animated picture ever.”


Pixar celebrated and showed gratitude for the achievement with a post on X, saying, “We’re overwhelmed with joy! Thank you to every fan worldwide for making Inside Out 2 the most successful animated film of all time.”

The animated film has also become the 13th highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, earning tremendous praise and $600 million domestically. The film started off strong at the box office, earning $1 million in its first 19 days of release. It is also the highest-grossing picture to date, with a projected revenue of $1 billion by 2024.

Other animated films in the Top ten all-time animated list.
Inside Out 2 is at the top of the list, which was previously won by the Frozen II, which was released in 2019, grossed $1.451 billion. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is currently ranked second, after only The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Illumination and Universal, which grossed $1.361 billion.



The other films include the first part of Frozen, which grossed $1.274 billion, Pixar Studios’ Incredibles 2, which grossed $1.242 billion, Illumination’s Minions, which grossed $1.157 billion, Toy Story 4, which grossed $1.072 billion, Despicable Me 3, which grossed $1.032 billion, and Finding Dory, which grossed $1 billion.

Seven of the top ten films were produced by Pixar or Walt Disney Animation Studios.
