The examination into the global interruption in devices using the Windows operating system revealed that the outage is caused by software developed by the US-based cyber-security firm CrowdStrike.
The disruption was not caused by a cyber-attack, Turkey’s Information Technologies and Communication Authority stated on Friday.
“CrowdStrike is aware of reports of Windows crashes related to the Falcon Sensor,” the company stated on its website.
Microsoft has stated on the X platform that its services are constantly improving as it continues to implement mitigation measures.
Microsoft also reported that the IT disruption affected key services, including PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Teams, and the Microsoft 365 admin center.
“We’re closely monitoring our telemetry data to ensure this upward trend continues as our mitigation actions continue to progress,” the company said.
So far, the IT outage has impacted a wide range of industries, including aviation, healthcare, and television outlets.
