MUZAFFARABAD – On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that natural disasters were beyond human control and that the only alternative was to bow before God Almighty.
During his visit to Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with victims of severe rains and snowfall in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, stating that eight Azad Kashmir residents were killed in the natural disaster.
“Today I have come here to express my condolences and regret and to pray forgiveness for the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured,” he told the crowd.
He stated that his government will not rest until the victims were fully rehabilitated and returned to their homes. The families of the deceased will be awarded Rs2 million each, while each injured person would recei Rs5 lac ve .
The prime minister stated that individuals whose houses were fully destroyed in the natural disaster would be compensated with Rs7 lac each, while those whose dwellings were partially demolished would receive Rs3 lakh.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with victims of severe rain and snowfall in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and handed relief cheques.
Sharif stated that his government had organized teams to undertake a survey with NDMA Azad Kashmir. All funds will be provided to the relatives of the killed, injured, or affected by March 13 at their residences upon the completion of the survey.
He stated that helicopters were being sent specifically to NDMA for these locations. In the event of a natural disaster, these helicopters would be easily available.
He stated that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein, and that the Kashmiris will not be alone during this difficult period. The prime minister announced that he will hold a meeting to discuss development projects in Azad Kashmir.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwaarul Haq called on Premier Shehbaz to congratulate him on his election as Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz underlined Pakistan’s unflinching support for Kashmir and its people. He stated that Pakistan supported the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for self-determination.
