ISLAMABAD – Struggling to alleviate the strain brought on by the Supreme Court’s decision to allocate reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the backlash received following its announcement to ban the PTI, the government decided on Friday to confer with its ally, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to reports, the President House would host the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on the subject, with President Asif Ali Zardari also participating in the consultative meeting.
PML-N leaders Ishaq Dar, Azam Tarar, Atta Tarar, Irfan Qadir, Ahad Cheema, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will attend the meeting, where the Attorney General will inform them on the various legal elements of the cases.
Farooq H Naek, Sherry Rehman, and Nayyar Bokhari would represent the PPP during the meeting.
According to sources, the PML-N leaders will take the PPP leadership’s confidence in invoking Article 6 against three important PTI leaders.
