Heatwave conditions likely to prevail in most parts of country: PMD

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has stated that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over most of the country this week.

According to the synoptic condition, continental air prevailed across the majority of the country. A high pressure system exists in the upper atmosphere and is expected to remain for the next few days.

On Thursday, scorching conditions are expected to prevail over the country. However, during the evening and night, isolated areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and bordering mountainous areas can expect partly overcast weather with rain, wind, and thunderstorms.

Most of the country has been experiencing extremely hot weather during the previous 24 hours. Dadu, Jacobabad, and Mohenjo Daro were the country’s hottest areas on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 49 degrees Celsius.
