In 2020, WhatsApp began to roll out dark mode for its web version. According to reports, the instant messaging service is getting ready to launch a new color scheme and a revised sidebar for the dark theme. It is anticipated that WhatsApp Web users will benefit from the redesigned interface in low light. It is anticipated to lessen eye strain. However, beta testers are not currently able to use the new interface, and WhatsApp has not yet formally confirmed that it is being developed.

WhatsApp is testing a new background color for the dark layout of its Web version in addition to a redesigned sidebar, according to a report from WABetaInfo. It is anticipated that the updated colors and redesigned design may lessen eye strain in dimly lit areas.

Although it isn’t currently accessible for testers, a later version of the WhatsApp Web is anticipated to have the new UI. A sneak peek at the suspected color palette for the gloomy theme has been offered by the magazine, though. The background, message boxes, and top bar all display the updated color scheme.

Recently, Meta has added a number of new capabilities to its instant messaging service. The social media platform debuted Pinned Messages earlier this month, enabling users to select a particular message from any ongoing group or one-on-one chat and pin it to the top of the conversation for a maximum of 30 days. Additionally, WhatsApp added the ability to view voice

messages once. With this feature, users can record a voice message that will be deleted after the receiver hears it.

Users of WhatsApp may soon be able to share status updates from paired “companion” devices or the Web version. Additionally, a new feature that will enable users to share HD photos and movies in their status updates is apparently in the works.

The New York Times (NYT.N) filed a lawsuit against Microsoft (MSFT.O) and OpenAI on Wednesday, claiming that the two companies had improperly used millions of the newspaper’s articles as training material for artificial intelligence systems.

According to The Times, it is the first significant American media outlet to file a copyright lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, the companies that made ChatGPT and other AI platforms.

The case filed in Manhattan federal court states that “Defendants seek to free-ride on The Times’s massive investment in its journalism by using it to build substitutive products without permission or payment.”

The Times is not seeking a specific amount of damages, but said it believes OpenAI and Microsoft have caused “billions of dollars” in damages for illegally copying and using its works.

OpenAI and Microsoft did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to the report, the company informed certain investors three months prior that it was turning a profit at a yearly rate of $100 million and predicted that amount would rise to $500 million by the end of 2024.

Anthropic is one of many businesses developing generative AI systems that can produce content and responses that resemble those of people. These businesses are supported by Alphabet’s Google and Amazon.com.

Siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei, as well as former executives from Microsoft-backed rival OpenAI, co-founded it. Its Claude AI models have competed with OpenAI’s GPT series for prominence.

According to those with knowledge of the business, Anthropic may generate $1 billion in annualized revenue or $83 million in revenue each month by the end of the year.

According to a source with firsthand knowledge of the situation who spoke with Reuters last week, the company is also in talks to seek $750 million in a financing round headed by Menlo Ventures.

Google and Amazon have committed to investing up to $2 billion and $4 billion, respectively, in the company in the last several months.

Hannah Waddingham Responds to Critics of Tom Cruise: Inside, More

Hannah Waddingham, who costarred with Tom Cruise on the most recent episode of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, recently responded to detractors of the actor.

Hannah spoke up for the Hollywood star and had nothing but positive things to say about him during an appearance on ITV’s James Martin’s Saturday Morning earlier this week.

“I have to say, I have a real problem with anybody that goes at him now,” the Ted Lasso actor said TV chef Martin, citing his five grueling days with Tom aboard the USS George HW Bush jet carrier. This was reported by The Independent.

She went on, “He is without a doubt one of the loveliest, most upbeat, inspiring, and positive human beings I have ever met.”

Hannah went on, “Isn’t he beautiful? I don’t have time to hear criticism of him from anyone.

Tom has a reputation for acting strangely when not on screen. The Top Gun actor gained notoriety in 2005 when he sprang across the couch to confess his love for his ex-girlfriend Katie Holmes during an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show.

Later on, Tom and Matt Lauer disagreed over the practice of psychiatry, which he referred to as a “pseudo-science.”

Cruise was ridiculed by host Jerrod Carmichael earlier in January 2023 when he brought up Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige, who hasn’t been spotted in public since the 2007 Golden Globes.

While hosting the Directors Guild of America Awards, Judd Apatow again made fun of Tom’s affiliation with Scientology in a number of jokes.
