Disabled Woman Left With A Bed Constructed For Her Aged Eight.

Disabled Woman Left With A Bed Constructed For Her Aged Eight.

The family of a young woman with serious disabilities claims she is still reliant on a specialized bed created for her when she was eight years old.

Taylor Crowe, 19, was born with significant brain damage, quadriplegia, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy and requires beds to keep her from falling out and injuring herself.

Her mother, Emma Crowe, is now fundraising for a dedicated enclosed bed at the family home as well as a portable one after being unable to obtain financing from their council.
Anglesey Council has been contacted for comment.

Mrs. Crowe stated that her daughter qualifies for respite care, which means that the family can apply for assistance while taking a break from caregiving responsibilities—but that without a portable bed, Taylor was at risk of being injured when outside of their home.

“It really would be something to be able to have a break,” Emma said, adding that she and her husband, Peter, wished to spend time with their two sons, ages 11 and 16.

“We have had all these years we haven’t been able to do anything with our other kids and enjoy our family time,” she told me.

Mrs. Crowe expressed her hope that by giving Taylor respite care and a bed that meets her needs, the other family members would be able to spend more time together.

“If we wanted to go to Alton Towers with the boys, Taylor would be cared for,” she told me.

Mrs. Crowe noted that she did not want to “appear like I’m complaining,” but that the situation is often difficult, particularly finding time to spend with the couple’s two sons.

She stated that she had been hesitant to accept help for Taylor for a long time since “she’s my baby.”.

“I’ve been scared to leave her with other people, but I have to think of my other kids,” she told me.

The family has now established a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the beds on their own.

“If I had the money, I would go and buy it all myself,” she told me.

On the GoFundMe page, the family stated that doctors did not expect Taylor to “live this long,” but she has been “defying the odds from day one.”

Emma stated that there are “constant challenges” in caring for Taylor, including taking the entire family out to eat because many establishments do not have wheelchair access.

Starmer In Berlin To ‘Turn The Corner On Brexit’

Starmer In Berlin To 'Turn The Corner On Brexit'

The UK is ready to begin talks on a new cooperation treaty with Germany as the Labour administration seeks to “reset” relations with Europe.

Sir Keir Starmer, who is in Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, said the agreement was part of an effort to “turn a corner on Brexit”.

Downing Street stated that the deal would encompass topics such as energy security, technology, and research.

It also stated that it will encompass access to each other’s markets and cross-North Sea trade.

After Berlin, Sir Keir will go to Paris to meet French President Emmanuel Macron and attend the Paralympics‘ opening ceremony.

No. 10 said it anticipated the new pact with Germany could be signed by early next year

Although concrete plans have not been published, conversations regarding expanding market access are expected to center on issues such as assisting firms in certifying their products and offering more information about tenders.

Downing Street noted that it would build on a defence agreement between the two countries that is now being negotiated and is expected to be concluded in the autumn.

That agreement, unveiled last month, saw the two countries commit to purchasing more military equipment together and making it easier for each other’s militaries to utilize it, as well as increasing cooperation in areas like as cyber warfare.

Sir Keir has promised to strengthen economic ties with Europe, including a “much better” trade pact than the one secured by Boris Johnson in late 2020.

His Labour government hopes to reach agreements with the EU to eliminate border checks on food items, simplify paperwork for touring musicians, and improve recognition of job qualifications, making it easier for some professionals to work abroad.

It also intends to negotiate a security arrangement with the EU and a new return agreement for unsuccessful asylum seekers.

It is uncertain whether Brussels will consider major revisions to the UK’s current Brexit trade pact, which is set to be revisited in 2026.

Downing Street said the prime minister and Mr Scholz would discuss cooperation measures to combat illegal migration, including the exchange of intelligence on smuggling gangs.

Nils Schmid, foreign affairs spokesperson for Mr Scholz’s Social Democratic Party, stated that the two leaders were “more or less on the same page” in their desire for a deeper partnership between the UK and the EU.

He told BBC Radio 4’s Today program that Germany hoped to promote UK-EU collaboration on matters such as trade, student mobility, and military.

Mr. Schmid stated that a strategy to make it simpler for young Germans to study in the UK was a “major feature of our wish list.”.

He maintained that such a strategy would not be about “general immigration,” but rather “short-term stays” for educational programs, student exchanges, or work experiences.

However, the Labour government has stated that there are no plans to implement a program that would allow young people from EU countries to live and work in the UK in exchange for young Britons doing the same in Europe.

Prior to the visit, Sir Keir stated that the UK had a “once in a generation opportunity to reset our relationship with Europe.”.

He stated that cooperation with Germany and France would be “crucial” in terms of migration and economic growth in the UK.

“We must turn a corner on Brexit and fix the broken relationships left behind by the previous government,” she said.

Sir Keir will meet Mr. Scholz, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and the CEOs of energy engineering major Siemens Energy and defence firm Rheinmetall, which manufactures vehicles for the British Army.

Trump Is Facing Revised 2020 Election Meddling Charges.

Trump is facing revised 2020 election meddling charges.

US prosecutors have re-filed charges against former President Donald Trump for alleged attempts to intervene in the 2020 election after he lost to Joe Biden.

They are in response to a US Supreme Court decision last month, which stated that presidents have extensive protection from criminal prosecution for official activities while in office.

The amended indictment includes the same four criminal accusations against Trump, which he rejects, but they now refer to his role as a political candidate rather than a serving president.

It looks doubtful that the case, as well as other criminal cases brought against the Republican, will be heard before this year’s election on November 5.

In addition to dismissing charges of electoral tampering, Trump has continued to claim—without evidence—that significant voting fraud occurred in the 2020 election.

The revised indictment, filed by Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith, maintains the four crimes Trump is accused of committing: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, attempting to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Trump has already pleaded not guilty to all allegations.

Todd Blanche, the former president’s personal lawyer, sent the BBC to the Trump campaign, which did not return a request for comment.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that the new charge was “an effort to resurrect a ‘dead’ witch hunt” and “distract the American people” from the election.

He demanded that it be “dismissed IMMEDIATELY”.

A source close to Trump’s legal team told CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, that the fresh indictment “was not a surprise.”.

“This is what the government is supposed to do based on what the Supreme Court did,” a source told me. “It doesn’t change our position that we believe Smith’s case is flawed and it should be dismissed.”

The amended charging sheet, which was reduced from 45 to 36 pages, reworks the phrasing of the claims and refines how it argues that the former president committed these crimes in accordance with the Supreme Court’s rule on presidential immunity.

For example, the amended indictment excludes the allegation that Trump attempted to compel Justice Department officials to act to reverse his defeat. The Supreme Court found that Trump’s directive to justice officials was not illegal.

The special counsel’s office outlined its reasoning in a statement.

It stated that the superseding indictment had been given to a new grand jury, which had not previously heard evidence in the case.

A prosecutor convenes a grand jury to evaluate whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution.

The Justice Department declined to comment further.

What exactly does a grand jury do?

According to the new charging sheet, Trump engaged in the alleged conspiracy to impact the election as a private man rather than as president.

“The defendant had no official responsibilities related to the certification proceeding, but he did have a personal interest as a candidate in being named the winner of the election,” according to a newly added section in the indictment.

Another new phrase references a lawsuit filed by his campaign in Georgia. The prior phrasing stated that the action was “filed in his name,” but the revised indictment says it was “filed in his capacity as a presidential candidate.”

According to prosecutors, the new indictment appears to have dropped allegations against Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department officer who played a crucial role in the alleged phony electors plot.

The phony electors plot was an attempt to meddle in the Electoral College system, which decides presidential elections. It centered on an attempt to persuade Republican-controlled state legislatures in seven states to select Republican electors or not nominate any electors in states won by Mr. Biden.

The counterfeit certificates were subsequently delivered to the US Senate in an attempt to have their votes counted in place of the legitimate electors, overturning Mr. Biden’s victory.

Mr. Clark was not named in any charge, but he has been identified by the media using public records.

The latest indictment upholds numerous significant charges against Trump, including his attempt to persuade Vice President Mike Pence to obstruct Mr. Biden’s election certification.

In last month’s Supreme Court verdict, Chief Justice John Roberts stated that any communications between Trump and Pence would most likely be considered official acts.

“Trump is at least presumptively immune from prosecution,” he said, adding that it remained to be seen whether the government can disprove “that presumption of immunity.”.

According to Daniel Charles Richman, a constitutional law scholar at Columbia Law School, the fresh indictment demonstrates that Mr. Smith viewed the US Supreme Court’s decision to suggest that his case could still proceed. However, whether it would satisfy the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity framework is questionable, according to the law expert, as “the Court was painfully vague as to what private conduct done by a president can be charged criminally.”

Mr. Richman told the BBC that the fresh indictment would not necessarily speed the process. He questioned whether it would be heard before the election.

According to a CBS News source close to Trump’s legal team, the former president’s lawyers would seek additional time to prepare for the case. They stated that if the judge agrees, the trial will most certainly be delayed.

This case came together when Mr. Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2022 to oversee two federal investigations investigating Trump: the election interference case and another accusing the ex-president of returning confidential papers to his Florida home after he left office.

On Monday, Mr. Smith’s team filed an appeal against a Florida judge’s decision to reject the private documents lawsuit.

“The district court deviated from binding Supreme Court precedent, misconstrued the statutes that authorised the special counsel’s appointment, and took inadequate account of the longstanding history of Attorney General appointments of special counsels,” the team representing the special counsel wrote in its petition for review.

Both cases have uncertain fates following the Supreme Court’s momentous decision last month.

If Trump defeats Democrat Kamala Harris, he is generally likely to order the Justice Department to drop all of the criminal charges against him.

Allies Renew Vow To Strengthen Ukraine’s Defenses During NATO-Ukraine Council Meeting

Allies Renew Vow To Strengthen Ukraine's Defenses During NATO-Ukraine Council Meeting

The NATO-Ukraine Council convened on Wednesday (August 28, 2024) in response to recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian citizens and infrastructure. Allies strongly criticized Russia’s indiscriminate strikes and reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defenses.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who led the meeting, stated that Ukraine continues to intercept Russian missiles on a regular basis, saving many lives. However, Ukraine’s ability to maintain its defenses requires more supplies and support. Following the current Russian attack, the Allies pledged today that they will increase military supplies to Ukraine. We must continue to give Ukraine with the equipment and ammunition need to defend itself against Russia’s invasion. This is critical for Ukraine’s capacity to remain in the war.”

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-fledged invasion, the Allies have provided extraordinary assistance to Ukraine’s defenses. At the NATO Summit in July, various Allies declared that they would deliver Ukraine new strategic air defence equipment, including more Patriot batteries, and that they would provide at least 40 billion euros in security support over the next year. Allies also agreed to coordinate security support and training for Ukraine, with a new NATO command taking on these responsibilities and becoming operational in September.

Wednesday’s discussion was held at the ambassadorial level and was called at Ukraine’s request. Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov informed allies via video link on the current security situation and priority capability requirements. The NATO-Ukraine Council was established at the NATO Summit in July 2023 to serve as a venue for joint consultations, decision-making, and activities between NATO and Ukraine. The council’s meetings are generally attended by ambassadors from NATO member countries as well as Ukrainian officials.

Prince William Receives Devastating News From The US

Prince William Receives Devastating News From The US

Prince William has received important news from the United States regarding her late mother’s legacy and the position of her younger brother, Prince Harry.

The Diana Award, a young charity founded in remembrance of the late Princess Diana, has announced that the Duke of Sussex will co-host an event in New York in September.

Dr Tessy Ojo, the charity’s CEO, stated on the Diana Award’s official X (previously Twitter) page: “In our 25th year, The Diana Award is delighted to be leading an event with Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, in New York this September. The event will be guided by young people’s perspectives on the most pressing issues confronting their generation today.

If William travels to the United States to pay tribute to his late mother, the occasion has the potential to reconcile two bickering brothers. However, the future King is claimed to be unable to attend the ceremony due to other engagements in the same month.

Some royal fans believe the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex will work together to honor their late mother.

Harry’s spokesman has confirmed that the Duke will visit New York City to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives.” He will have engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.”

Harry, on the other hand, will not be accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, but he will be supporting the work of The Archewell Foundation, which he co-founded with the Duchess.

UN Says Gaza Humanitarian Operation Delayed Due To Evacuation Orders.

UN Says Gaza Humanitarian Operation Delayed Due To Evacuation Orders.

The United Nations says it has been forced to temporarily halt its relief operations in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli military evacuation orders in the heart of the Palestinian enclave.

A senior UN official informed reporters that aid workers were unable to operate on Monday due to safety concerns.

Evacuation orders for areas of the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in and around the central town of Deir al-Balah, where the UN’s main operations center is located, pushed staff to transfer hastily and leave equipment behind, they added.

However, the official added that UN agencies would not be leaving Gaza and were now looking for a safe place to function.

The Israeli military has stated that it gives evacuation orders to safeguard civilians while operating against Hamas and other armed groups.

Earlier on Monday, it stated that troops were continuing to “dismantle terrorist infrastructure” and “eliminate terrorists” on the outskirts of Deir al-Balah.

According to the UN, which is the principal provider and distributor of humanitarian aid in Gaza, up to 88.5% of the territory has been ordered evacuated since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas.

This has pushed an estimated 1.8 million people to seek refuge within the humanitarian zone, which covers only around 41 square kilometers (15.8 square miles) and lacks crucial infrastructure and basic amenities.

In response to an extraordinary strike on southern Israel on October 7, the Israeli military launched an operation in Gaza to crush Hamas, killing around 1,200 people and holding 251 more captive.

More than 40,430 people have died in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.

Local officials in Deir al-Balah said about 250,000 people have been forced to abandon numerous neighborhoods of the town since August 16, when the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began issuing evacuation orders.

Humanitarian workers from various UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and service providers, as well as their families, have been relocated as a result of the directives.

The UN said a new order issued on Sunday that spanned one block in the town’s south had affected 15 UN and NGO buildings, as well as four UN warehouses.

“We’re unable to deliver today under the conditions that we’re in,” the top UN official stated on Monday. “As of this morning, we’re not operating in Gaza.”

However, UN workers have been directed to develop solutions that will allow activities to resume.

“We’re not leaving because the people need us there,” the official stated. “We’re trying to balance the need of the population with the need for safety and security of the UN personnel.”

Sam Rose, a senior deputy field director for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Deir al-Balah, said that both UN officials and Palestinian residents were “being squeezed into ever smaller areas of Gaza.”.

“Israel’s declared humanitarian zone has reduced. It currently covers approximately 11% of the Gaza Strip,” he told reporters in New York via video hookup. “This is more than merely 11% of land that is suitable for human habitation, services, and life. These are sand dunes, congested locations where people live side by side, doing whatever they can to get by.”

“It is precisely in these circumstances that polio has lately resurfaced in Gaza, with a few cases. “It could spread very quickly,” he said.

“Children are malnourished. The healthcare sector was ravaged. Poor water and sanitation. People live in garbage dumps and sewage lagoons. They’re nervous and anxious, and their immune systems are compromised.”

Mr. Rose stated that UNRWA and other UN agencies have been focussing their efforts on the polio vaccine campaign, which is set to begin this Saturday and aims to immunize more than 640,000 children to avert an outbreak.

“The immunizations have arrived. We are calling for calm and humanitarian pauses to allow vaccination programs to pass and be successfully implemented.”

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has also cautioned that the recent evacuation order in Deir alBalah affected areas near al-Aqsa hospital, the town’s primary medical facility.
The medical organization said in a statement on X that an explosion roughly 250m (820ft) from the facility on Sunday caused panic, with many people preferring to evacuate.

“As a result, MSF is considering temporarily suspending wound care while continuing to provide life-saving therapy. According to the Ministry of Health, only 100 of the approximately 650 patients remain in the hospital, with seven in the intensive care unit.

“The situation is unacceptable. Al-Aqsa has been working well past capacity for weeks due to a lack of patient choices. All fighting sides must respect the hospital and patients’ right to medical care.

Dr. Anas Ibrahim, an emergency physician at the hospital, told BBC Arabic’s Gaza Today show on Monday that the situation there was “indescribable.”.

“As the evacuation news spread, patients with fractures and wounds all began to evacuate the hospital for fear of being exposed to an offensive,” he told me.

“Terror, anxiety, and panic have overpowered everyone in the hospital. Everyone is terrified right now, and everyone is waiting to see what happens.”

The IDF stated that the evacuation order did not include local hospitals or medical institutions and that patients and medical staff were not required to leave.

NASA Decides To Return Starliner Spacecraft To Earth Without Crew

NASA Decides To Return Starliner Spacecraft To Earth Without Crew

NASA said Saturday that astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams will not be onboard Boeing’s Starliner when it returns to Earth. The uncrewed return permits NASA and Boeing to continue gathering testing data on the Starliner throughout its forthcoming voyage home, while simultaneously avoiding putting the crew at unnecessary risk.

Wilmore and Williams, who flew to the International Space Station in June on NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test, have been working on station research, maintenance, Starliner system testing, and data processing, among other things.

“Spaceflight is dangerous, even when it is done safely and routinely. A test flight, by definition, is neither safe nor routine. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson stated that the choice to keep Butch and Suni aboard the International Space Station and return Boeing’s Starliner unmanned is the outcome of the agency’s commitment to safety, which is its core value and North Star. “I’m grateful to both the NASA and Boeing teams for all their incredible and detailed work.”

Wilmore and Williams will continue to work as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew until February 2025. They will return home on a Dragon spaceship with two additional crew members assigned to the agency’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission. In early September, the starliner is expected to leave the space station and land safely and autonomously.

NASA and Boeing discovered helium leaks and problems with the spacecraft’s reaction control thrusters when Starliner neared the space station on June 6. Since then, engineering teams have done a lot of work, including examining data, doing flight and ground testing, hosting independent reviews with agency propulsion specialists, and establishing multiple return contingency plans. The uncertainty and lack of expert concurrence do not fulfill the agency’s safety and performance standards for human spaceflight, causing NASA leadership to transfer the crew to the Crew-9 mission.

“Decisions like this are never easy, but I want to commend our NASA and Boeing teams for their thorough analysis, transparent discussions, and focus on safety during the Crew Flight Test,” said Ken Bowersox, assistant administrator for NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate. “We learned a lot about the spacecraft throughout its route to the station and while docked. We will also collect additional data on Starliner during the uncrewed return to improve the system for future flights to the space station.”

Starliner is designed to operate autonomously and has completed two unmanned flights. NASA and Boeing will collaborate to adapt end-of-mission planning and the Starliner’s systems in preparation for the uncrewed return in the coming weeks. The starliner must return to Earth before the Crew-9 mission can launch to confirm that a docking port is available on station.

“Starliner is a very capable spacecraft, and, ultimately, this comes down to needing a higher level of certainty to perform a crewed return,” said Steve Stich, manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. “The NASA and Boeing teams have done a tremendous lot of testing and research, and this flight test provides crucial information on Starliner’s performance in space. Our efforts will help prepare for the spacecraft’s uncrewed return and considerably benefit future corrective actions.”

NASA’s Commercial Crew Program needs ships to conduct a crewed test flight to ensure that the system is ready for regular trips to and from the space station. After Starliner returns, the agency will analyze all mission-related data to determine what extra activities are needed to achieve NASA’s certification standards.

The agency’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission, initially scheduled for four crew members, will launch no earlier than Tuesday, September 24. When the Crew-9 roster is confirmed, the agency will provide more information.

NASA and SpaceX are now working on many elements prior to launch, including reconfiguring seats on the Crew-9 Dragon and altering the manifest to include more cargo, personal goods, and Dragon-specific spacesuits for Wilmore and Williams. Furthermore, NASA and SpaceX will launch Crew-9 from new facilities at Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, providing greater operational flexibility in the run-up to NASA’s planned Europa Clipper launch.

The Crew-9 mission will be the ninth rotational mission to the space station under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which collaborates with the American aerospace industry to achieve the goal of safe, dependable, and cost-effective transportation to and from the orbital outpost using American-made rockets and spacecraft that launch from American soil.

Iraq And NATO Begin High-Level Political Talks

Iraq And NATO Begin High-Level Political Talks

A political discussion process has been initiated by NATO and Iraq, building on their long-standing collaboration. A group of senior Iraqi officials, headed by Qasim al-Araji, the National Security Advisor, visited Alliance Headquarters earlier today to have talks with senior NATO officials.

We work hand in hand every day to enable Iraq to build more sustainable, transparent, inclusive, and effective armed forces and security institutions that can restore long-term stability to its people. We undertake these efforts with full respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Since 2018, at the request of the Iraqi authorities, our non-combat advisory and capacity-building mission, NATO Mission Iraq, has advised Iraqi security institutions, helping them to shore up their nation’s security, fight terrorism, and prevent the return of Daesh.

Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, noted, “We held important meetings with the North Atlantic Council, as well as with the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations and the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Southern Neighbourhood.” “We reiterated to NATO the genuine, long-term cooperation between Iraq and NATO to support Iraq in attaining security and stability by advising and strengthening the capabilities of the Iraqi Security Forces. Mission of NATO Iraq has committed to maintain our constructive dialogue with NATO; our relationship is not directed against anyone; rather, it is for the benefit of a safe and stable Iraq. Iraq is a non-combat advisory mission, he continued.

“We are starting a political dialogue today to build on this successful practical cooperation. Since both NATO and Iraq are interested in a stable and secure Middle East, it is only natural that we talk about how we can work on this together,” stated Javier Colomina, the Special Representative of the NATO Secretary General for the southern neighborhood and NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy.

NATO’s focal point for the southern neighborhood will be the organization’s Special Representative. He will be in charge of organizing, making NATO’s activities in the south more visible, and bolstering cooperation with allies.

NATO’s involvement in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Sahel will grow as a result of the action plan that the Allies decided upon at the Washington Summit. This strategy includes the appointment of the Special Representative.

The Iraqi officials met with members of NATO’s International Staff as well as Permanent Representatives of NATO during their visit. They discussed issues of common concern, such as regional security, as well as the prospects for long-term cooperation and the NATO-Iraq alliance.

Tragic News Is Delivered To King Charles

Tragic News Is Delivered To King Charles

As thousands of climate protestors prepare to storm the gardens of the monarch’s Windsor Castle next week, King Charles III appears to be in trouble.

The 75-year-old has been invited to stand outside the royal residence with activists for Extinction Rebellion (XR).

According to XR, their protest is directed at the system that upholds the “obscene profits of oil and gas companies,” not at any specific person.

Windsor Castle has been selected as a symbol of an inefficient and unfair system, where our message will be effectively received. According to Catherine Bartlett of Extinction Rebellion UK, who spoke to Euro News, “the general election has neither addressed the urgent action needed to tackle the climate and nature emergency nor fixed our broken system.”

The organization, in a statement, stated: “His Majesty and all people of good hearts and good conscience are invited to join us for three days of beauty, community, action and democracy.”

They said that volunteers would be present to assist in monitoring the event and ensuring everyone’s safety, and that the estate had approved of the nonviolent protests. The campaigners will also have access to food, drink, restrooms, and tents.

The King has always been an outspoken supporter of climate change and has fought for environmental causes. He has devoted years to promoting organic farming, conservation, and other environmental causes.
