What Vikrant Said
Speaking about his character Rishu in the film, Vikrant hinted that there could be a past that drove him to willingly compartmentalize his ability for violence. He went on to share a personal tale, saying, “This is my life experience. I used to practice karate and taekwondo, and my body was full of aggression. You felt invincible. I’m going to school for recess. Ek punch mara jaw pe. You were not aware of his medical background. He had epilepsy and started foaming.
You noticed this boy frothing in front of you, losing consciousness. The older brother comes in and hits you left, right, and center. Yes, breakdown occurs in a matter of seconds. Tumhe dard us waqt mehsoos nhi hua because tumhara darr ye tha ki woh mar na jaaye (I felt aggressiveness in my body). You hit someone in school during recess without realizing he had epilepsy. This is a breakdown of a few seconds. “You don’t feel pain because you’re afraid the boy will die.
‘You could also kill somebody.’
He then added, “Tumne karate chhor diya, tumne sab kuch chhor diya.” Tumne ye understand, ‘You could also kill someone.’ Uske baad tum jaha bhi gaye, but pit ke hi aaye. Tumne kisi pe haath nahi uthaya. You have left karate. You knew you could kill someone. Wherever you went after that, you were always targeted. But you didn’t raise your hand. After that episode, I have never raised my hand to anyone in my life).
