Amid rumours of Monkey Man not releasing in India, viewers flock to pirated version of Dev Patel’s directorial debut

Monkey Man, which was supposed to open in Indian theaters on April 5, has yet to announce a new date. Meanwhile, it was released on video-on-demand in the United States.

Despite rumors that Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man will not be released in Indian theaters, Indian audiences have found a way to watch the action film. The film was supposed to be released in India and around the world on April 5, but it has yet to be cleared for release. Monkey Man release
While the release date for Monkey Man in India is unknown, it has already been made available on video-on-demand services in the United States. As a result, unauthorized versions of the film made their way into the internet. As a result of the ambiguity surrounding the film’s official release in India, viewers turned to that route.

Incidentally, Indian fans were able to watch Monkey Man on both Dev Patel’s birthday, Tuesday, April 23, and Hanuman Jayanti. The film was largely influenced by the Indian mythological hero.

On X, a user remarked, “Dude, does everyone have the monkey man link but me.” “Dev patel girls will say he such a mastermind to float monkey man link on hanuman jayanti,” said a different person. A third post stated, “#MonkeyMan torrent is going to break records in India.” Yes? No?”

About Monkey Man
The action thriller recounts the journey of a young guy, played by Dev Patel, who sets out to seek justice for his mother’s death, which was caused by corrupt authorities. However, his quest for vengeance takes an unexpected turn when he becomes a champion for the oppressed and powerless, transforming into the titular Monkey Man.

Along with Dev, the film stars Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Makarand Deshpande, Ashwini Kalsekar, and others. Notably, Dev Patel co-produces the picture with Jordan Peele, in addition to directing and acting in it.

Actress Priyanka Chopra lauded the film on Instagram Stories earlier this month, sharing a snippet from Monkey Man. She shared the video with the comment, “Bravo #DevPatel.” “What an impressive debut!”

Monkey Man opened at SXSW and garnered a standing ovation, which moved Dev Patel to tears.
