Earthquake jolts parts of Balochistan twice in a day



ISLAMABADDunya News reported that numerous Balochistan cities were rocked late Tuesday night by an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale.

This was the second earthquake in Balochistan that day.

Tremors were felt throughout the province, including Noshki, Chagai, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Mastung, Dalbadin, and a number of other locations.

People rushed out of their homes and began reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life or damage was reported in any portion of Balochistan.


According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, the epicentre of the earthquake was 166 kilometres southwest of Quetta at a depth of 30 km.

Tremors were detected hours earlier in Quetta and other regions of Balochistan. People came out of their houses, reciting Kalima Tayyaba.

Earthquake shocks were felt in numerous locations of Balochistan early this morning. The earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake struck 35 kilometers deep, with its epicentre 150 kilometers southwest of Quetta.
