Ed Sheeran visits school in Mumbai ahead of concert, sings with students. Watch

Fans went ‘aww’ after Ed Sheeran shared a video of his recent school visit in Mumbai, just days before his concert in the city.  

Ed Sheeran is in India! On Tuesday, the musician shocked fans by sharing a video of himself visiting a school in Mumbai via Instagram Reels. The singer-songwriter was observed in the school talking with youngsters and performing songs for them. He will perform in Mumbai on March 16 for the concluding leg of his +-=÷× Tour (Mathematics), as part of his Asia and Europe Tour in 2024. (Also read: Going to Ed Sheeran’s concert on March 16? Ed pays a school visit in Mumbai.  

In the video, Ed stated, “So, I just arrived in Mumbai, India.” We are going to visit some schools today and perform some songs. I’ve also heard that the youngsters have something to play for me.” 

Ed was then seen inside classrooms, where primary school students played games, talked with him, and even performed in small groups. Ed, wearing a plain white tee and shorts, appeared to be having a great time with the youngsters and was seen smiling. He also brought his guitar with him and sang his song Shape of You with them.

Ed captioned the photo, “Visited a school in Mumbai this morning and swapped performances with the kids, so much fun.” It’s great to be back in India, too!” Many people responded to the post by commenting on how adorable and sincere he appeared at school. Singer Armaan Malik responded with a crimson heart emoticon. A fan said, “Such a down-to-earth man.” A second fan commented, “Awww these moments are so heartwarming.” A comment said, “Bro is giving them the ultimate memory.” “The fact that he sat down with the children! “Respect to you,” said another comment. 

Ed will play at the Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds in Mumbai. This will be Sheeran’s second concert in India, having previously performed there in 2017. Singer Prateek Kuhad will entertain the audience before the main act. Fans will also enjoy singer Calum Scott’s opening act, which will include songs such as You Are The Reason and Where Are You Now.
