Heatwave conditions to prevail over most plain areas: PMD

ISLAMABADHeatwave conditions are expected to dominate over most plain areas of the country during the next two days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) prediction.

While strong winds and dust storms are predicted during the afternoon. However, during the evening and night, isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan may have partly overcast weather with light rain and thunder.

According to the synoptic condition, continental air was prevalent throughout the country. A high pressure system exists in the upper atmosphere and is expected to remain for the next two days. A shallow westerly wave was evident over the northern section of the country.

The majority of the country has been experiencing extremely hot weather during the last 24 hours. However, little rain or drizzle fell in isolated areas of Gilgit Baltistan.

Mohenjo Daro remained the country’s hottest spot on Sunday, with temperatures reaching 52 degrees Celsius.
