KP CM Gandapur denounces by-elections as rigged like Feb 8

Peshawar – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned what he called the worst rigging in history, citing the February 8 electoral irregularities in recent by-elections.

During a press conference, Chief Minister Gandapur discussed the contested mandate.

He revealed disparities in voting trends. In some Punjab constituencies, candidates obtained more votes than in the general election, raising accusations of foul play.

He also emphasized transparency in the KP’s electoral process. He applauded the federal government’s investigation into electricity theft, but warned against false allegations against civilians.

Regarding financial discrepancies, Chief Minister Gandapur stressed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s right to more than Rs 1500 billion owing by the federal government.

In conjunction with his party, he promised to hold peaceful protests across provinces against fake cases.

Furthermore, he demanded the return of reserved seats purportedly awarded to another party by the Chief Election Commissioner.

CM Gandapur urged the federal government to handle escalating terrorism events and provide the necessary police reinforcements.

He committed to correct the erroneous FIRs filed on May 9.

Chief Minister Gandapur finished by praising the military forces’ sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
