Outage-stricken people storm grid station in Peshawar

Peshawar – People gathered to protest the unending periods of loadshedding in the stifling heat.

Residents of Hazar Khwani and adjacent areas entered the grid station, as demonstrators led by province minister Fazal Elahi demanded a quick supply of energy.

It is worth remembering that Fazal Elahi stated the other day that he will control the button at Rehman Baba Grid Station at 9 a.m. to issue the loadshedding schedule himself.

Fazal Elahi had previously claimed that he would distribute electricity to each area based on the precise percentage of power outages in that area. He promised to support KP CM after the latter stated plans to seize KP’s rights from the Centre.

Wapda authorities restored electricity after a successful dialogue with demonstrators.

On the other hand, two to ten hours of loadshedding combined with Friday night’s storm brought people’ life to a halt.

Electricity was not restored to more than 30 feeders until the latest reports arrived.

Manawan, Batapur, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Kot Lakhpat, Chouburji, Allama Iqbal Town, and Shahdara are experiencing the most severe outages.
