A sneak peek into the world of “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” Bhansali’s digital debut, was revealed in the skies via drone formation.

The event was attended by the show’s main cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, as well as Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, and Tanya Bami, Director of Series for Netflix India.

The series, billed as an epic narrative of love, power, retribution, and independence, delves into the cultural realities of ‘Heeramandi’, a sparkling area, via the lives of courtesans and their customers set against the turbulent backdrop of India’s freedom fight in the 1940s.

According to Sinha, Bhansali created a dream-like universe in “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”.

“We didn’t want to leave his world since it was so beautiful and captivating. As performers, we had never had an experience like this before.

“The takeaway from working with him was that no matter how good you think you are he will always get something better out of you,” she said.

Chadha, who previously collaborated with Bhansali on “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela” (2013), appreciated the filmmaker’s attention to detail.

“… Nothing can be accomplished halfheartedly. You must put your heart and soul into everything, including conversation delivery, acting, dancing, and music. He even keeps an eye on any extras standing behind. Working with him is an absolute pleasure. “We all became better actors,” she explained.

“I think his work ethic is unmatched,” said Koirala, who collaborated with Bhansali on his directorial debut, “Khamoshi: The Musical” in 1996.

“Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, who missed the ceremony after marrying her long-term husband, actor Siddharth, today.

Bhansali conceived, directed, and produced the series, which is based on Moin Beg’s premise.
