ISLAMABAD- On Thursday, the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) selected Zain Qureshi, a PTI–backed candidate, as their parliamentary leader in the National Assembly.
SIC leaders presented his name to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Zain is the son of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the imprisoned PTI vice chairman.
Previously, the SIC nominated Omar Ayub as opposition leader in the lower house of parliament.
