Today is the great music composer Nashad’s death anniversary.

Today is Wednesday, the 43rd anniversary of the great Pakistani composer Shaukat Ali Nashad’s passing.

Shaukat Nashad’s father, Ghulam Hussain Khan, was a well-known tabla player and came from a musical family. The musician Ghulam Haider worked with the father-son team.

Through his father, Shaukat Ali Nashad became well-versed in the complexities of music, discovering its subtleties and secrets. His musical interpretations of a number of classic tunes have made a lasting impression on the music business.

‘Jaan Keh Kar Jo Bulaaya To Bura Maan Gaye’, performed by Saleem Raza, ‘Un Ki Nazron Se Mohabbat Ka Jo Paighaam Mila’, performed by Runa Laila, ‘Meri Zindagi Hai Naghma Meri Zindagi Tarana’, performed by Noor Jehan, ‘Zindagi Mein To Sabhi Pyar Kiya Karte Hain’, performed by Mehdi Hassan, and numerous other notable compositions by Shaukat Ali Nashad are among his famous works.

Between 1964 and 1980, Shaukat Ali Nashad wrote more than 400 songs for more than 63 Pakistani motion pictures. His services to the music industry brought him great recognition.

It is especially acknowledged that Nashad brought the gifted singer Runa Laila into the arts. On January 3, 1981, Shaukat Ali Nashad departed from this life and was laid to rest in Lahore, Pakistan.
