The 31-year-old “What I Am” singer made very few remarks about his 3-year-old daughter Khai in an interview with L’Officiel. When asked if Khai would ever accompany him in the recording studio, Malik replied, “It’s past her bedtime. She doesn’t come to the studio, but she’s starting to understand that Baba sings and Baba does music.” “She asks everybody, whenever there’s a song on the radio, ‘Is my Baba singing?’ But in front of me, she gets shy about it.” The One Direction alum also disclosed that his daughter has started to display her own musical abilities. “Khai has a lot of natural ability herself already.”
“I look forward to seeing what she’s going to be capable of doing as she gets older,” Malik said.
Gigi Hadid, 28, and Malik are parents to a daughter together.
Malik sent a heartfelt homage to his daughter on Instagram in September to commemorate her birthday. Introducing a collage of her images, the performer referred to Khai as “the most amazing soul I’ve ever known.”
The singer started off by saying, “Happy birthday to my everything; you are the most amazing soul I’ve ever known.” “I am incredibly grateful for the blessing of being with you every day.”
