Agreement on PTI founder’s meetings with kin, lawyers in Adiala jail

RAWALPINI – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and the superintendent of Adiala Jail have agreed on standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the former’s interactions with relatives and attorneys.

The SOPs outlined the timetable of trips to meet with the jailed former Prime Minister. The agreement has been signed by both the PTI’s founder and the jail superintendent.

The PTI leader appointed three people to facilitate his talks with lawyers and family. The main figures are PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Barrister Umair Niazi.

Each focus person is responsible for recommending two names for meetings with the PTI founder in jail. Meetings are arranged twice a week, on Tuesdays for family visits and Thursdays for meetings with lawyers or others.

Meetings required by court orders shall take place with the permission of the PTI founder, as indicated in the SOPs.

According to a report from the jail, the PTI founder met with ten people on March 26 and 18 on March 28.
