On HBO’s Game of Thrones, English actor Kit Harington became well-known as Jon Snow.
A person’s life can be made or broken by their level of fame. It was the latter in Harington’s situation.
The 37-year-old celebrity recently opened up about his startling mental health diagnosis and early years of fame booze struggles.
Harington disclosed that he was informed of his ADHD while being hospitalized to a treatment facility for alcoholism in a recent edition of the health podcast Hidden 20%.
Harington attempted another rehab program prior to being accepted into an American rehab center.
Recalling his first treatment experience, the Eternals actor remarked, “I entered rehab drunk, sobered up in there, and went, ‘F**k this, not you guys in a circle. Thank you, but no.
I quickly quit that and decided to “try to deal with this by myself,” but after about four years, that didn’t work.
The Gunpowder actor remembered reaching an all-time low in 2018 and 2019.
He was the lead actor in the play True West during that time. “I kind of collapsed during that play, told people around me what was going on, and finally took action,” Harington recalled.
Harington said that the overwhelming popularity of Game of Thrones caused his condition to deteriorate.
Recalling his mental health problems, Harington explained how he was “trying to project this picture of total sophistication and coolness about what I was doing but honestly being sort of terrified about everything.”
