Sydney Sweeney confirms she is heading back to Euphoria season 3: ‘I always feel like I go home’

Fans of the iconic HBO drama can rejoice, as Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard in Euphoria, has just provided a huge update on the show’s comeback.  

Sydney Sweeney just provided a huge update on Euphoria. The actor spoke with MTV about returning to the blockbuster HBO drama for a third season, hinting that she has a full plate for the foreseeable future after releasing Anyone But You, Madame Web, and Immaculate. What Sydney Sweeney said:  

When asked if she plans to take a break after her recent back-to-back releases, Sydney laughed and stated, “I go into Euphoria.” She remained tight-lipped when questioned about the new season’s script and whether she could provide an update on it. 

Further discussing the episode, the actor stated, “I always feel like I’m going home. It feels like home when I return to it. I like it. “I’m excited; it’s like family.” Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, and Jacob Elordi feature in the Sam Levinson-directed film Euphoria. The show aired to widespread praise in 2019, and it returned for a second season in 2022. The second season concluded with a climactic school performance that resulted in a showdown.

A big tragedy occurred in the interim, when Angus Cloud died of an accidental drug overdose last year. The actor portrayed Fez in the show. Sydney paid tribute to Angus on Instagram, posting several treasured photos of him. She added, “Angus, you were an open soul with the sweetest heart, and you made everyone laugh. This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to post, and I’m battling to find the right words. You will be missed more than you realize, but I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known you during this lifetime, and I am confident that everyone who has ever encountered you feels the same way. This pain is real, and I wish we could have had one more embrace and a 711 run. “All my love is with you.”
