He was born in Faisalabad on June 20, 1931.

In 1969, Zia Mohyeddin rose to fame with his discussion show “The Zia Mohyeddin Show” on Pakistan Television.

He had the chance to act at an early age in the well-known 1962 movie “Lawrence of Arabia,” where he had a noteworthy role.

He gained notoriety for creating the character of Dr. Aziz in the stage production of “A Passage to India.” Early in the 1950s, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Karachi’s National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) was founded in 2005 by Zia Mohyeddin. Since NAPA’s founding, he has served as its director.

A Carrot is a Carrot, Theatrics and The God of My Idolatrous Memories, and Reflections are some of the novels he authored.

For more than 67 years, Zia Mohyeddin was connected to the theater and film industries.

For his outstanding contributions to the performing arts, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Hilal-i-Imtiaz, and Sitara-i-Imtiaz decorations.

He died in Karachi on February 13, 2023.
