Vipul Amrutlal Shah on ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’: We wanted to explore human tragedy

Vipul Amrutlal Shah on ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story‘ We wanted to investigate human tragedies.  

The next film is directed by Sudipto Sen, who previously worked with Shah on the contentious 2023 filmThe Kerala Story“.  

On Monday, Shah, the film’s cast, and the families of the martyr police officers debuted the song “Vande Veeram” from the film.  

“We did not want to enter into politics. We aim to investigate human tragedies. All politics is on one side, and the actual victims are ordinary people. When will their anguish be visible to others? We generally curse politicians and move on, but this true human tragedy needs to be addressed,” he explained.  

Sen referred to “Bastar: The Naxal Story” as a “human document”.  

“We are focusing on those who face violence on a daily basis… The director explained that the film focuses on gun violence. 

Adah Sharma is the film’s lead actor. It is her second collaboration with Shah and Sen, following the success of “The Kerala Story“. She plays an IPS officer in the film.  

“It’s a mix of numerous real-life people. “I met many CPRF female soldiers and IGs to learn about their commanding personalities,” she explained.  

During the ceremony, Shah also commended the Central Board of Film Certification for giving the film a ‘A’ rating.  

“We delivered all of the documentation and evidence they requested. After reviewing it, they contacted the specialists. When the screening committee saw the picture, they cleared it by issuing it a ‘adult’ film certificate with certain adjustments. 

During the ceremony, Shah praised the Central Board of picture Certification for giving the picture a ‘A’ rating.  

“We provided all of the documents and evidence that they asked. After evaluating it, they contacted the specialists. When the screening committee saw the film, they approved it by awarding a ‘adult’ film certificate with some changes.
