News of Sofía Vergara being ridiculed for her accent has surfaced from one of her recent interviews.
While speaking on the Spanish chat show El Hormiguero this week, Vergara was expecting to talk about her upcoming Netflix series Griselda. However, host Pablo Motos seemed to make fun of her accent when she talked about working on her prior project Modern Family, asking, “How do you say Modern Family?” through a translator.
When Vergara shared pictures from her visit on social media following the interview, she appeared to be at ease. With a heart emoji, she commented on Instagram, “Thank you for inviting me!!!!”
Netflix will begin offering Griselda for streaming on January 25.
“I say it wrong?” Vergara translated her response. “Oh, because your English is better than mine? Ah.
“How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States?” she said. “How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?” Vergara has four nominations for every awards show, for those who are keeping track.
