Islamabad United became victorious in the HBL Pakistan Super League 9, but Muhammad Irfan Khan Niazi, the young player for the Karachi Kings, was the star of the post-match celebration.
Niazi, a Mianwali native, won the titles of Emerging Player of the Tournament and Fielder of the Tournament.
Niazi, who made his Karachi Kings debut in the 2023 campaign, carried over his success into the 2024 campaign as one of the squad’s players who was kept on.
Among his many highlights this season was his 171 runs in 8 innings at a remarkable strike percentage of 140.16. Notably, he received great praise for his match-winning knock in a game that the Kings had to win in order to secure a vital victory against Lahore Qalandars. In addition, he came in seventh on the Karachi Kings’ all-time run-scorers list for PSL 9.
Throughout the competition, Irfan Niazi’s fielding ability was on display. The up-and-coming talent took 8 catches in 9 games, further establishing his status as a valuable player.
